Help Police Find Hit-and-Run Driver in District Heights

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. - Prince George's County Police say just after 5:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man and a 28-year-old female were walking back to their homes from the library. They say as the two started to walk across the road at the exit off Walker Mill Road in District Heights, someone driving down the exit hit both pedestrians.
"They were crossing the street. It was a poorly lit area," said Corporal Larry Johnson of Prince George’s County Police.
Both victims were in the middle of the road when police arrived. The driver of the car didn't bother to stop.
Johnson says police are looking for a 1990 Honda Accord.
After being transported to the hospital, the 21-year-old man remains in critical condition. The 28-year-old woman did not survive.
Police are now focusing on finding witnesses who were in the area at the time of the fatal hit-and-run that could lead them to the driver behind the wheel.
